About Chilli Cream Mushrooms

I love mushrooms in any form, thus I keep experimenting with mushroom recipes. I happen to make cheesy mushrooms often and decided to make things a bit spicy minus the processed cheese. This recipe has a bare minimum of ingredients that are readily available at home, & it comes together in just 15 minutes.

Description

Creamy chili mushroom is an appetizer, which is creamy, and spicy with whole mushrooms cooked/caramelized with onions untill golden.

The secret lies in how well the mushrooms are sauteed along with the onions, that is what adds to the flavor.

There is no chopping of mushrooms and the recipe uses whole mushrooms thus the time to make this dish reduces much to your comfort. The recipe comes together in 15 mins.

 

 

Ingredients
    Ingredients
  • 2 Packets, Mushrooms, washed & cleaned (No chopping required)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cream
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic, minced
  • 1 Medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder (Reduce if like it less spicy)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander or parsley leaves for garnishing.
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly crushed pepper
Instructions
  1. Saute the Aromatics
    • In a heavy bottom / non stick pan, add butter, garlic & fry onions till slightly golden on low - medium heat.
    •  
  2. Caramelize the Mushrooms
    • Add mushrooms and salt.
    • Sautee the mushrooms & onion (golden) till they are golden.
    • The water from mushrooms will evaporate & mushrooms will reduce in size and turn slightly golden.
  3. Cream & seasoning
    • Once mushrooms are cooked add fresh cream, chilli & black pepper.
    • Cook on low to medium heat till cream thickens a bit.
  4. Serving

    Check & adjust the salt as per your taste & garnish with fresh parsley or coriander leaves & serve.
